A.V. Kamalamma College for Women was established in 1967. The college is one of the prestigious institutions run by Bapuji Educational Association, Davangere. The College is affiliated to Kuvempu University. Each Science department has spacious and well equipped labs. The infrastructure of the laboratories enables the students to achieve skill in the experimental Sciences. Botany department has a beautiful garden and fern house which serves the museum with large number of specimens. The main aim of the college is to empower women through imparting quality education in the areas of pure sciences, applied sciences, social sciences and Business Studies to women of all sections of the society, enabling them to acquire knowledge and skills, develop values and positive attitudes and making them responsible citizens with self-confidence and economic independence.
