Government Arts College, Udumalpet, affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and recognised under Section 2 (f) and Section 12 (B) by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, was established in the village of Bodipatty, Udumalpet, in the district of Tirupur, Tamilnadu in 1971. It is a multi-disciplinary institution offering 20 UG Programmes, 10 PG Programmes and 30 Research Programmes. There are 18 Arts courses, 32 Science Courses and 10 Commerce courses. There are 125 faculty members and 2951 students. Its campus spreads over 37.37 acres.
