Government College of Fine Arts, Thrissur is one of the premier centers of fine art education in Kerala, which celebrates the Centenary in 2010. Affiliated to the University of Calicut in 1997, this institution has entered into a new phase of its development; it’s gathering a new momentum to provide young talents of the state with quality training and infrastructure facilities in the stream of fine arts. The institution started functioning in 1910 in the name of ‘technical commercial industrial school’ under the auspices of the erstwhile Cochin dynasty and imparted training on art and craft.
