Government Polytechnic College, Kasaragod is the first professional college in the Government Sector in Kasaragod District established by the Government of Kerala. in the year 1988, at Chattanchal. It was inaugurated by the then Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala Sri. E.K. Nayanar in the function presided over by Sri. K Chandrasekharan, Honorable Minister for Education. In the beginning only two branches of Diploma Courses were sanctioned – Electronics engineering & Electrical engineering, each with intake of 25.
